I was going to apply for a character, when I realized that I had no idea what I was doing
I did some searching over the forum, and now I need to know:
Who is Rekenber?
Why does Rekenber create these Experiments?
What are experiments?
Are they basically just civillians that are experimented on? (I get that they are something from from the periodic table and they have their number tatooed on their neck)
What are scientists and how are they involved with experiments?
What is the adreneline mode, exactly?
I read the inquiry, but I still don't understand
Am I just dumb?
Thanks very much for taking your time to read this. If there is a post for this, I took an hour searching for it, I'm terribly sorry

I'm beginning to think that in order to RP I might have to have knowlege from some sort of game. Is this site based of anything like that, a game/show? I'm sorry for being a terribly troubling person. |

First off I feel the need to ask. Have you ever played Ragnarok Online?
this RP is based in the world of that game.
Who is Rekenber?
[taken from iRO wiki]
| Quote: | | Evil corporation bent on (probably!) world domination!! Has ties to the faction in Arunafeltz which is trying to mobilize against Rune-Midgarts. Created the infamous Biolabs, and performed horrible experiments on unwilling participants. Many Quests revolve around Rekenber. Their headquarters is located in the city of Lighthalzen. |
Why does Rekenber create these Experiments?
| Quote: |
the Rekenber Coporation had conducted numerous experiments-- most upon poor human victims. Underneath Lighthalzen is the Somatology laboratory, where most of the Rekenber Coroperation's Life Experimentations tests are conducted. A huge division of these Life Experiments were tested beneath the name, Project [A]esir.
The experiments conducted with the means of breaking normal human limitations... Purely contributing towards the sake of manufacturing artificial gods. To give humans the ability to possess unnatural qualities-- a human who cannot be bound by nature's laws-- one who would gain the title of immortality. |
What are experiments?
They pretty much are civilians that are experimented on. Rekenber is not picky on who they choose to experiment on. Pretty much taking orphan children and having them wait in the "waiting room" until they are ready to be experimented on. From past experimentation the ideal time to start experimenting is when a person is mature (around 18).
Experiments have a sort of a bad success rate, so that is why Rekenber is not picky on who they practically kidnap to use as human test subjects. The ones that don't die and are considered successful have the numbers tattooed on there neck and are given a name from the periodic table.
Side effects from being experimented on are different from person to person. (you can decide what 'side effects' they have) Some experiments have bad memory or have lost memories before being experimented on or there brain is so fried they act like a child. some are pretty much brainwashed, or a blind child can see a bit when in adrenal mode.
When you apply (if you do) for an experiment it has to some how balance out. If your character becomes faster because of the experimentation, there has to be a negative to that, like they get worn out easily. (or something like that)
What are scientists and how are they involved with experiments?
the scientists are the ones that do the experiments on the unfortunate subjects. Sticking needles into them and all that testing stuff... let your imagination go a bit creative/wild with that. an example would be switching the hearts of twins.
There's a reason they are called "experiments"...for they are put thew inhumane experimentation in secret in the name of SCIENCE.
What is the adrenaline mode, exactly?
it's an effect from the experimentation. think of it as sort of a "berserker mode". In this mode an experiment mostly has there 'godly' abilities (increased speed, strength, eta.) It's sort of described as a blind rage or extreme mania with paranoia. Pretty much the person just snaps due to extreme fear, anger or any other strong emotion.
the red eyes effect is a side effect of this mode and currently the scientist haven't figured out why it occurs. _________________ Rekenber is GOD! and god is Rekenber.

Thankyou very much for taking your time to answer and find the answers to all these questions of mine!
But no, I haven't played RO. But now, I think I will, just to get a little more background info before I make an application for a character here ;) But before I do so, is it another one of those addicting games like I think it is? xD |

It's an MMORPG, full of the usual online interactions and LEVEL GRINDING. We in particular play FeelRO ^^ Their website is http://feelro.nu/ (though you don't really need to play Feel itself to get the hang of things)
But... other than that, I was supposed to make a Glossary/FAQ for non-RO applicants. There are quite a few of you, you see. Thanks for reminding me that I have to get back to that, hehe
I'm glad to see you interested in playing the game yourself though |

Well, if I can't ever get the game client to work, I'll be looking foward to that glossary ^.^ |
